Matthew Chapter 5:13-16

From The Sermon On The Mount

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

 Good works don't get us to heaven, only a relationship with Jesus Christ does that. 

 Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 

 Our 'works' or 'work' is to glorify God and not ourselves. We are to remain His humble servants. Among other things we, as Christians, are to be "salt & light". When I decided to make this attempt I had an internal struggle - am I doing this for just me? Is it an ego thing? Should I try to be anonymous? Then I came across this verse that I think many of us overlook.

 Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.  We are to use the talents and abilities God gave us to glorify Him. Not ourselves. This is why this attempt is entitled One Wheel One Way. There's only one way to heaven and Jesus is that way.

Do you have a talent you're hiding that would glorify God because maybe you're afraid of what others may say?  Be bold. Be humble. Be salt and light.
